Another Channel, Another Subject started in early February
Anders began a new Vimeo channel San Diego Water Voices to demonstrate how human nature id dealing with one of its keys to survival, fresh water. The channel begins with efforts by
the Art of Science Learning San Diego Incubator for Innovation. This is an innovation community comprised of scientists, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators from our binational region. The goal is to create new products, services, and learning programs targeting water and the mismatch between supply and demand.
A Voice of Reason

Cordial Consequences … started 2-2-14, in progress
Anders is returning to masonite in 2014. The past two years his mediums of choice have been acrylics-canvas and acrylics-watercolor paper. For over thirty years masonite has been the primary surface for an Anders painting. Now, it will join canvas and watercolor paper as images are transferred from one surface to another.

The new masonite work will be all about surface and application of paint, and of course, the removal of paint. Lines will be additive and subtractive. Meaning and texture will accumulate with levels and layers.

The masonite paintings start with two coats of an ochre tinted bonding primer. Each coat is brushed in a different direction for smoothness. Then a base color, in this case a red, is applied. The process has begun. The joy is the journey.
