Ancient Disco 2:54<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It all started on March 13, 2014 when Denver Clay, SonicAtomics\u2019 music director, asked Anders Tomlinson, SonicAtomics\u2019 creative director, if Denver\u2019s yard could become water smart. Anders brought over cuttings from his urban \u201cdrought\u201d tolerant garden. A year later, after 36 hours of labor between the two and $75 in materials, “Allied Gardens” posed for a formal portrait. This is more than a story about the creation of a Southern California compatible garden starting with a lawn that was no longer watered: this is also a film and soundtrack project.<br \/>\nDirt, rock, terrace edging material, cactus and succulents work together in the face of \u201cclimate change.\u201d Another plot element in this contemporary drama is the southwest\u2019s returning, or return, to a \u201cdrought\u201d normalcy: between 1900 and 2000 was an unusually wet period according to regional tree-ring records. “Allied Gardens” is growing, in step, with the times. This cactus-succulent village, refugees from three continents, overlooks an asphalt river and its flow of human primates inside their widely decorated four wheeled capsules. 2015 was a year of strange San Diego weather: minutes, hours, days and months. The one constant was heat. At this point, the audio mix has elements from every recorded track. The next step will be refinement and deletion. <\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It all started on March 13, 2014 when Denver Clay, SonicAtomics\u2019 music director, asked Anders Tomlinson, SonicAtomics\u2019 creative director, if Denver\u2019s yard could become water smart. Anders brought over cuttings from his urban \u201cdrought\u201d tolerant garden. A year later, after 36 hours of labor between the two and $75 in materials, “Allied Gardens” posed for a formal portrait. This is more than a story about the creation of a Southern California compatible garden starting with a lawn that was no longer watered: this is also a film and soundtrack project.<br \/>\nDirt, rock, terrace edging material, cactus and succulents work together in the face of \u201cclimate change.\u201d Another plot element in this contemporary drama is the southwest\u2019s returning, or return, to a \u201cdrought\u201d normalcy: between 1900 and 2000 was an unusually wet period according to regional tree-ring records. “Allied Gardens” is growing, in step, with the times. This cactus-succulent village, refugees from three continents, overlooks an asphalt river and its flow of human primates inside their widely decorated four wheeled capsules. 2015 was a year of strange San Diego weather: minutes, hours, days and months. The one constant was heat. At this point, the audio mix has elements from every recorded track. The next step will be refinement and deletion. One to two more music and video sessions are planned for In-Dig-Enous,” a celebration dance of hope.
