Tule Lake Basin habitation is influenced by weather. 12,000 to 7,000 years ago warming trend with rain. 7,000 to 5,000 years ago very hot and dry, lakes evaporate and animals leave. 4,000 to 2,000 years ago a wet cycle returns along with creatures as the lakes refill. 2,000 years to present another drying trend begins but not as severe as 7,000 to 5,000 years ago.
