A source of cold high mountain water. This story of the Trinity River begins with the water captured behind the Trinity Dam. It is the major structure of a system comprising 3 dams and a tunnel, that sends Klamath River Basin water to the Sacramento River Basin. It is part of the Central Valley Project. Before Europeans arrived, this region was home to the Wintu and Yana.
