His days in the Tule Lake Interment &#8211; Segregation Camp are one of many chapters: poet, playwright, memoirist, librarian, student, civil rights advocate, actor, son, husband, father&#8230;\u2028His narration for this film was recorded in 2006 by Anders Tomlinson at Hiroshi&#8217;s San Francisco basement with Jimi Yamaichi assisting. Anders Tomlinson edited the archival still images and his Pilgrimage video footage with Hiroshi&#8217;s powerful reading and Denver Clay&#8217;s piano music, recorded in Tulelake, CA. Special thanks to the Tule Lake Committee for their support and encouragement.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/77937934?byline=0&amp;portrait=0&amp;color=f2e3aa\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>The Game Warden hung a duck around the neck of one of the internees.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is the first of 17 scenes to be completed documenting Jimi Yamaichi at the Tule Lake Internment &#8211; Segregation site during the 2004 Tule Lake Pilgrimage, July, 3, 2004. He has a wireless mic on him to record his recollections and interaction with the Pilgrimage. In this segment Jimi talks about the day the Game Warden hung a duck around the neck of one of the internees who had been outside of camp catching birds. Men would sneak outside camp along with a couple of men whose job was to check the Emhoff tanks. All waterfowl and bird video was filmed on the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/78091348?byline=0&amp;portrait=0&amp;color=f2e3aa\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>The ditch was unlined and water was lost to evaporation.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is another scene with Jimi Yamaichi at the Tule Lake Internment &#8211; Segregation site during the 2004 Tule Lake Pilgrimage, July, 3, 2004. Jimi is showing folks one of the main ditches that moved water from west to east and north and south off of laterals. The ditch was unlined and water was lost to evaporation and soaking into the dry lake bed.
