Creation continues on all fronts, 30 x 24 inches, and detail, acrylics on canvas.
Colony Personality Order started at Anders’ Serra Mesa studio in 1999. It then traveled to Klamath Falls and then the Tulelake farmhouse where it was worked on from 2004 to 2008. It traveled back to Serra Mesa and hung on the studio wall for several years. It would come down for a day, every once in a while. to receive color left on that day’s working palette. Finishing touches were started in early June 2014 and finished on 6-25-14. The question becomes: is an Anders painting finished if it is still in his possession. When they go into storage there is not much he can do to them unless he goes retrieves them out of storage – which are places where thousands of “finished” works are stacked. Anders assumes if a series was brought out of storage to be displayed in public he would reserve the right to have a week to re-photograph details, sand the protective finish coat, have a final work session, refinish, and again photograph-document before the painting goes to where it is going.
