This series is the end result of using all the Payne’s Grey that was in the domed crown of an empty paint tube. No matter how hard Anders squeezed no paint would emerge. He cut the tube near the cap with a knife and scooped out the imprisoned paint. That little amount of paint, almost always thrown away, was used, with a palette knife, to begin these seven 18 x 24 inch watercolor paper works. Anders strives to use all the paint, waste not – want not.
