High Tech, Low Tech, No Tech

15 – Floatees 4:21

This is an exquisite sparkling living breathing sound scape space.
Textures and undertones, ripples and waves, air and atmosphere. Enveloped by the sounds of a fertile secret world, teeming with flourishing nature.  Instruments think they are  birds or creatures.  Creatures think they’re instruments.  Expansive and rich in harmonics and motion textures, it shimmers and resonates across an expansive world stage.   From the lowest subharmonics to the highest sparkles, it stimulates across the entire frequency range of human hearing.  Some sounds hover, others flash like shooting stars.  There are long slow breaths contrasted with eruptions of pulsing rhythms.  Some sounds are near enough to touch. Others seem to be reverberating off of mountains or canyons beyond the valley and through the woods. Profound mystical epiphanies unfold revealing reawakened perceptions of what is.

The piece begins with the water bubbling up from Harriman Springs on Upper Klamath Lake. A multi-layered track of visitors to the San Diego Zoo’s Orangoutang enclosure has its moments. An overgrown apple orchard in Tulelake, Ca adds to the brew. Amplitude unleashed… Anders Tomlinson
