01 – Angerlee Wangsdt 3:37
Music is excerpt from song Wonderlone, my first effort using my brand new Ensoniq VFX-SD 12-track keyboard workstation in 1989. A keyboard workstation is a self-contained all-in-one synthesizer which combines all major categories of instruments and sounds, including drums, effects, and MIDI note velocity capability, all of which can be multi-track MIDI recorded, arranged, edited and mixed onboard, or “in the box”.
Angerlee Wangsdt opening 0:35These capabilities marked a new era of music creating for me. At that time I had been hopelessly lost in an ocean of sadness from a broken heart. Each morning I would roll out of bed straight to the VFX-SD, and remained there working until I passed out in the chair. Two weeks later the song Wonderlone was done. A great example of the power of music to transform negative to positive, desperation to hope, ugliness to beauty.
Angerlee Wangsdt movement 0:34That keyboard was my first synth with a decent acoustic piano sound, including onboard digital effects processing, such as reverb, as well as a full palette of instrument sounds, including drums. No longer did I require complex studio setups with a room full of hardware and a complex network of connecting cables. I could create and develop anything, anytime, anywhere, with only a keyboard, AC power, sustain pedal, headphones, an optional data cartridge for keeping an extra bank of custom sounds onboard, and blank 1.44 MB / 3 1/2″ floppy disks for saving my work. Such power! Such freedom! Yeah baby, thats what I’m talking about!… Denver Clay
Angerlee Wangsdt hit 0:31Ahhhhh, the romantics have the capacity to rule our minds and bodies. Their audience is within all of us at some point upon our earthly journeys. Denver is a romantic and Angerlee Wangsdt – Wonderlone is a cosmic rest-stop for the emotionally wounded to have gourmet coffee and fried cheese. How long they-we-you-I stay varies on conditions and possibilities. This is a power of music… Anders Tomlinson
